The degree of contact lens, should choose as far as possible with oneself actual degree is same or slightly inferior degree. If the degree is not the same, it should be low rather than high, because too high degree may lead to dizziness and other symptoms.Pay attention to distinguish the right and left eyes when putting the lens into the glasses box, especially when the two lenses have different degrees, to avoid the uncomfortable feeling caused by cross-wearing. -

If you don't have astigmatism, you don't have to lower it.If the degree of frame glasses is above 300 and below 600, contact lenses should be 25 degrees below the frame. If it's over 600, the contact lenses should be 50 degrees below the frame. -

Contact lenses are just as effective as glasses in correcting myopia and astigmatism, and even better than glasses.but their degrees should not be the same! -

No, the prescription for glasses and contacts is different because of how they work and the distance from the eye. If you've never had contacts you also need to be assessed for suitability and fitting as the lens diameter is important too. -

As for the degree of contact lenses, you should choose the same or slightly lower degree as your actual degree. The myopia inside 400 degrees commonly, the degree of contact lens and frame glasses are same. -

It needs to be emphasized that the difference between frame glasses and contact lenses has little effect on the lenses below 400 degrees, which can be ignored, and more than 400 degrees need to be added or subtracted. -

The answer is no. Eyeglasses are usually about 12 millimeters from the eye, the prescriptive power of a contact lens — which is positioned directly on the tear film of the eye — will be slightly less nearsighted. Which means the prescription will be different. You need to take an eye exam to make sure of the prescription. -

The contact prescription should include base curve and diameter, but frame glasses prescription does not include those things. Therefore they are not the same. -

Your contact lens Rx should be less power than your glasses Rx. It depends on the following factors. 1. If you have a strong power, it can be reduced because the lens is sitting on the eye vs the distance between the eyeglasses and your cornea, which is called vertex distance. -

Light refracts at different distances depending on the distance between the frame and contact lens and the cornea. Thus the degree of contact lens should be less than the degree of frame glasses! -

The degree of contact lenses is different from that of ordinary glasses. If the degree of frame glasses is below 500, the contact lens should be lowered by 25.If the degree is above 500, the contact lens should be lowered by about 50. For example, if the degree of glasses is 375, contact lenses should be 350; if the degree of glasses is 600, contact lenses should be 550. -

They are issued by different measuring methods. Therefore they are totally different. You should not use the same degree. However, it does not matter so much if your power is very weak. -

The contact prescription includes more information than what is available on the prescription for eyeglasses. Special measurements are taken of the curvature of the eye. -

When we are preparing the contact lenses, it's should usually decrease about 50 degrees lower, because the contact lens is close to our eyeball with clearer sight. -

Without astigmatism, there is no reduction below 300 degrees. If the degree is above 500, the contact lens should be lowered by about 50. -

Eyeglasses and contact lenses are devices that correct refractive errors in vision. Eyeglass lenses are mounted in frames worn on the face, sitting mostly on the ears and nose, so that the lenses are positioned in front of the eyes. Contact lenses appear to be worn in direct contact with the cornea, but they actually float on a layer of tears that separates them from the cornea. Therefore they are not the same. -

Contact lens prescriptions and eyeglass prescriptions are not the same. They are significantly different because eyeglass lenses are positioned approximately 12 millimeters from your eyes, whereas contact lenses rest directly on the surface of your eyes. If you want to wear both contact lenses and eyeglasses, you will need two separate prescriptions. -

No, not everyone who needs eyeglasses can wear contact lenses successfully. Conditions such as dry eyes or blepharitis can make contact lens wear uncomfortable or unsafe. Even with no pre-existing eye conditions, some people have sensitive corneas and simply cannot adapt to contact lenses. -

Like an eyeglass prescription, a contact lens prescription includes the lens power required to correct your refractive error — whether myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and/or astigmatism. But, depending on the degree of your refractive error and the type of contacts prescribed, the powers specified on your contact lens prescription may be significantly different than those on your glasses prescription to give you the best vision possible. -

The contact lens prescription contains additional specifications that are not included on a glasses prescription, and these can be determined only after a comprehensive contact lens exam and fitting. -

They are not the same. In addition to the general parameters, a contact lens prescription will include a Base Curve and a Diameter. Both the Base Curve (BC) and Diameter (DIA) of a contact lens ensures a proper fit on your cornea and total eye surface to ensure comfort, and encourages eye health including allowing proper oxygen to the eye. -

Contact lenses need to fit the size and shape of your eye where eyeglasses don’t, so the contact lens prescription includes additional elements, like base curve (the curvature of the lens), diameter (the width of the lens) and the name of the contact lens brand. -

I don't believe they are the same. You might find that your glasses prescription will have a cylinder and axis value, while your contact lens prescription do not. -

Since eyeglasses are usually about 12 millimeters from the eye, the prescriptive power of a contact lens — which is positioned directly on the tear film of the eye — will be slightly less nearsighted. This becomes significantly different with prescriptions of 4D or greater. Therefore, in our example, the power of a contact lens will be less than the eyeglass prescription for the right eye. -

Of course not!Let's take an example of an eyeglass prescription: OD (right eye): -4.50 -1.50 x 180 OS (left eye): -3.25 DS The amount of correction is expressed in diopters, sometimes abbreviated as "D." Here, the left eye needs a correction of -3.25 diopters. "DS" (diopters sphere) indicates a spherical correction only, and no astigmatism correction. The minus (-) sign indicates correction for nearsightedness (myopia); a plus ( ) sign would mean farsighted correction (hyperopia). Here, the right eye has a spherical correction of -4.50D and an astigmatism correction of -1.50D. The degree axis of the astigmatism correction is 180. -

I was told that the prescription is different for contacts - because they're in your eyes and glasses are sat on your nose. So you should get different prescriptions I suppose. -
