  Usually our eye color matures in infancy and will remains the same for the whole life. But what determines the eye color of an adults is the pigment melanin. If the eye has a lot of pigment melanin in the stroma, the eye color will be darker; if there is less pigment melanin in the stroma, the eye will tend to be lighter. When we get older, the pigment melanin reduces slowly then cause the change of our eye color.

  Eye color can change with age. This happens in 10 to 15 percent of the Caucasian population (people who generally have lighter eye colors). For instance, my once very brown eyes are now hazel, a combination of brown and green. However, some hazel eyes actually get darker with age

  Yes, our eye color will change naturally to become either lighter or darker with our age. The pigments in the retina decide the color of our eyes. When we get older, our body degenerate and can't perform as well as before. So we can't take in enough nutrients for our eyes. The pigments will change slightly due to this reason. So the eyes change color when we get older.
