Well, as far as I know, a pair of glasses for a 12 year kid is not a good start. Anyway, it is possible that the problem is resulted from what we call Pseudomyopia, which could make people confused you know? Here I would like to recommend that you take the kid to the hospital for an eye exam and make decisions in line with the doctor's supervision.

Well, generally speaking, a 12 year old teenager is not supposed to wear contact lenses, for it can be dangerous for him to have contact lenses. And in some cases, it may lead to some eye problems too. In common, teenagers have eyes which have been growing in a fast speed. So if they wear contacts, it will not improve its growing, but damage the eyes' organ. By the way, contact lenses are made from plastics, so it may hurt the eye balls. Also, eyes are so sensitive that they can be infected in a young age. Anyway, in my opinion, he should not wear contact lenses at a young age and just wear the regular glasses.

From the research, it is better for the kids above 12 to wear the contact lenses. Under 12 years old, the kid's eyes are not developed well. It will harm the eyes, causing many eye diseases. We should teach children to protect the eyes from small age. Thus, it is not ok for a 12 year old child to wear the contact lenses.

Frankly, wearing contacts lenses must do more harm to our eyes than wearing glasses. However, some people prefer to wear contacts, just like me; I start wearing contacts since I was 10 years old. Nevertheless, you should keep in mind that you should take care of your eyes and your contacts. For example, when you finish a day and you have to put off the contacts, letting them have a rest among the wonderful solutions. Do remember that do not sleep with the contacts, or your eyes will get harm. Besides, when you feel your eyes are a little dry, especially when it is the first time to wear contacts, you should feed your lenses some eye lubricants, and do not use eye drops when wearing contacts because the drops will break the lenses, which will result in hurting your eyes. When you wear the contacts for the first time, if you found your eyes are irritated, you should put off the contacts immediately and go to doctor's. If you follow these steps, you can feel free to wear contacts.
