Vitamin A can help prevent night blindness and cataracts. It can also preserve eyesight. As we know, as we get older, we may suffer vision loss which is cause by a thing called Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). AMD is one of the leading causes of blindness in people who are older than 65. However, Vitamin A can reduce the chances of suffering AMD.

Vitamin A can reduce the risk of macular degeneration and help improve night vision. The lack of Vitamin A could cause the cornea to become very dry, leading to clouding of the front of the eye, corneal ulcers and vision loss. Vitamin A deficiency also causes damage to the retina, which also contributes to blindness.
