Polarized lens offer specific protection from UV rays and are particularly suited for some activities. But, despite popular theory, polarized lenses don't represent significantly increased UV protection. Their main advantage lies in their function. Normal tinted lens provide basic protection against both vertical and horizontal UV rays. However, they don't diminish the glare from reflected horizontal rays.Polarized glasses have a built-in, laminated filter that permits only vertical light rays to pass through, and almost totally blocks horizontal rays to eliminate glares.

Polarized lens is recommended for fishing or beach activities, you can suddenly see through the surface. Which was previously clouded by the reflections from the sun and sky. Polarized lens are darker than the tinted lens.

Regarding to this problem, the polarized glasses have a built-in, laminated filter that permits only vertical light rays to pass through, and almost totally blocks horizontal rays to eliminate glares. This is most noticeable when boating or fishing, since you can suddenly see through the surface, which was previously clouded by the reflections from the sun and sky above. However, regular tinted sun lenses indiscriminately filter all light whether it is horizontal or vertical. Glare is dampened, but not eliminated. More importantly, by filtering all components of light, visual acuity is diminished.

Polarized lens sunglasses can selectively eliminate the reflection from light coming from above the water surface. Normal tinted lens only decrease the intensity of light and make things seem a little darker. Moreover, polarized lens sunglasses are one of the most important tools for a fishermen. They wear them often to filter out surface glare so they can see fish and underwater structure.
