Swollen eyelid is a very common symptom of pink eye. There are three types of pink eye, refering to the inflammation of conjunctiva, bacterial, viral and allergic conjunctivitis. Different type of conjunctivitis requires different treatment. As to allergic conjunctivits, you should stay out of touch with the allergens. Allergic reaction comes and also goes fast, even no treatment required if it is not serious. Flushing your eyes with water to wash out the possible allergens in eyes, then it would be much better soon. Get fresh air purified and use a humidifier in your room. If your pink eye is caused by baterial or viral infection, then you could apply a warm saline water compress on eyes, which could effectively help the conjunctivitis. The warmth could help promote blood circulation so that the fluid collected around could flow and get absorbed. Meanwhile you can also apply some gentle massage there after your hands completely washed with mild soap. The massage could help the blood flow too. Get an extra pillow to elevate your head position so that the fluid would not collect around eyes.
