Here are the common reasons for excessive eye blinking in adults:
First, inflammation, this is the most common reason, it may be caused by bacteria, viruses, Chlamydia infection, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis.
Second, it may be the congenital eyelid entropion and trichiasis.
Third, hyperactivity, it means a part of your body has a suddenly involuntary contraction movement, such as eye blinking.
Fourth, eyestrain, it includes eye fatigue, which caused by refraction errors, especially hyperopia, myopia.
Fifth, neurological blink, due to the disposable nerve fibers which control orbicularis muscle is stimulated, it has frequent contraction, and then lead to eye blink.
Sixth, some people may have frequent eye blink because of above disease, after having treatment, they also keep the habit of frequent blinking.
