Can uveitis cause blindness?

I was diagnosed with posterior uveitis several months ago and I have heard that it can get worse and even cause blindness finally. Is that true?

    Yes, If you have uveitis and let it untrated, it is likely to lead permanent blindness. Nevertheless, as long as you treat it properly, it is rarely happen blindness. In fact, most of patients still in good vision. So, you shall follow-up closely with your ophthalmologist. Anyway, the eyes is your most precious sense. So, you shall ask help from an ophthalmologist not just ask an opinion at online.

    Yes. If you let uveitis untreated, it can cause blindness. Uveitis can results in chronic inflammation in the eye. And the symptoms of uveitis are redness of the eye, light sensitivity, pain, blurred vision. Some people will experience floaters when they get uveitis. Once you are diagnosed with uveitis, you should have it treated as soon as possible. Now the treatment for uveitis is corticosteroids.
