How does alcohol cause double vision?

My dad complained that he had double vision after too much drinking. How does this happen?

    Alcohol can affect the brain stem and the nerves that control your eye movements and tracking. It slows down the brain so you can't get the eyes tracking on something quickly and then cause double vision.

    Alcohol will affect the nerves in your brain and brain stem and the speed at which your iris constricts and dilates, so you can hardly get your eyes focus on something quickly. Then the time you react will make you see two images, thus cause your double vision.
