Can I have prescription lenses put into fake eyeglasses?

I saw some really cute glasses at the mall a while ago, but the lenses are just clear and don't do anything. I really want them to be my actual prescription glasses. If I take the fake lenses out, can I go to Lenscrafters and have them put real lenses in?

Yes, you can. Some optician may replace the lenses for you but some of them may suggest you to buy a pair of new glasses. Fake eyeglasses often have poor quality. But if your glasses are of the same frame of real glasses, you can definitely store your prescription lenses with your old frame.

Of course you can. But there maybe exist some problem while replacing them. Some fake glasses lenses cannot be replaced , and some fake glasses frames are not suitable for real lenses, or the frames won't last very long due to the quality of the cheap frames. If the frames are very cheap, just get them and take them to an eyeglasses store and see if they can do anything with them. If it doesn't work, look for some of the on-line eyeglasses sites and see if you can find some similar frames.

You'd better not. It will cost you too much. I will suggest you get a new pair of prescription eyeglasses which is much cheaper now. You can order them online with your prescription. I often get prescription eyeglasses from online optical stores.

It depends. If the shape of your eyeglasses is very special, it might be difficult to find pair appropriate lenses. But I still suggest you to have a try in any optical shops with your frame. You'd better not take the lenses out by yourself because you may deform the fame or break the frame.

In theory, you could do that. But there are some possible side effects. We all know that most fake glasses are of poor quality. The frame may deform after using them for a few months. Besides, the frame may get break easily if we drop them on the ground by accident. So I think a pair of real glasses is better than a pair of fake glasses. But you decide what you want in the end. I just give my concerns and suggestions.

You can store a pair of prescription lenses with your fake eyeglasses. You'd better turn to an optician. But I won't suggest you to do that. As I know, many fake eyeglasses are of poor quality. They will deform or get break easily. And they are less durable than real glasses. So I suggest you to buy a pair of real glasses in any physical eyeglasses shops. You can try the glasses in eyeglasses shops so that the frame will fit you appropriately. And you can also avoid discoloration. But if you are short of money as I do, you can buy a pair of glasses online. Remember to check the size and comments of the glasses you choose online before placing an order. Good luck!
