Vitamin D deficiency will not cause dry eyes, but it will cause skeletal deformity in children, osteomalacia in adults and rickets due to calcium malabsorption. Dry eye is a symptom of Vitamin A deficiency. When you overuse your eyes, rhodopsin, which is synthesized by vitamin A, is depleted, then you get dry eyes. You can get vitamin D from skimmed milk, vitelline, lean meat, marine fish, liver, cheese, nut and marine products. Apart from food source, Vitamin D can be synthetic by basking in the sun.

Anyway, if you have a vitamin A deficiency, you may also experience problems with dry eye.
