What are the treatments for posterior vitreous detachment?

  PVD, sometimes also called vitreous detachment, can cause sight lossis because of a change in your eye that occurs when the vitreous, a gel-like substance attached to the retina in the back of the eye, shrinks and pulls away from the retina. Till now, there is no medical treatment for PVD patient. But there is a surgical procedure called "vitrectomy" which can reduce floaters, thus to help people with PVD. But this operation is risks and not usually offered to patients.

  People who get posterior vitreous detachment may experience floaters, little flashes of light, or a cobweb effect in their vision, which indicates a serious problem, such as a retinal tear. In this case, the best way is to go to see a doctor to have it treated. However, there is no medical treatment for posterior vitreous detachment. Some other ways including eye exercises, diet changes or vitamins can will not help treat posterior vitreous detachment, either. But you don't have to worry about it, the floaters will disappear on its own. Howeve, you still need to see a doctor first.
