Who is not suitable for lasik surgery?

I am going to have lasik surgery, but I am not sure whether I am a good candidate for lasik surgery. Can you tell me who can't have lasik surgery?

Lasik surgery are not suitable for everyone. People with diabetes, cataracts, Keratoconus, Glaucoma, Some vascular diseases such as systemic lupus erythrematosus, lead to blood vessels becoming damaged and blocked are not suitable for lasik surgery.

The following people are not suitable for lasik surgery: 1. Prescription is not stable in recent 2 years; 2. The thickness of cornea is less than 430um; 3.Keratoconus, glaucoma, dry eyes, cataract and other eye disease; 4. diabetes patients; 5. serious lazy eyes; 6. younger than 18. 7. pregnant and nursing women.

People who have scarring or irregularities cornea and those whose powers are below 0.50 dioptre (50 degrees) or powers above 30.00 dioptre (3,000 degrees) are not suitable for lasik surgery. Before you go to have lasik surgery, you are required to have an eye exam to see whether you are a good candidate for lasik surgery.

Pregnancy are not qualified for lasik surgery. People who have got Systemic lupus erythematosus, Uveitis, and Diabetes mellitus are not suitable for lasik surgery. However, your surgeon will tell you whether you are suitable for lasik surgery or not.

You should not be suffering from any active eye diseases such as cataract, glaucoma, retinal detachment or keratoconus. If you suffer from severe dry eyes or a past ocular herpes infection, you may also not be a good candidate. Also, be sure to tell your doctor if you or anyone in your family has ever had a cornea disorder, diabetes or autoimmune disorder. You should not be taking certain prescription drugs like oral prednisolone. These conditions may increase the risk of serious complications.Lasik cannot be done if you are pregnant. Persons with an obsessive nature or who have great difficulty finding glasses to suit their eyesight are also advised against treatment.
