Can different index lens in my glasses cause vision problem?

The lens for my right eye is a high index lens and the left is medium index lens because the power and astigmatism of both eyes are different. But I wonder if this would cause vision problem or affect the way and direction my eye focus?

Yes. Different index lenses will affect the way and direction your eye focus and then cause your discomfort. What's more, different index lenses will make the lenses have different thickness. I think you'd better use high index in both lenses to make them look similar even if you have different power in both eyes.

I think it would not cause vision problem if you feel comfortable with them. You may need several days to get used to them and your brain would try to adjust between the different lenses.
