Can the sea salt damage your eyes?

I work on a boat and are exposed to the sun in most time. I have to wear sunglasses but the sea would spray on my face. I then apply sunscreen on and rub the salt in while doing so. Sometimes my eyes get sore when i get home. Is it the sea salt that cause sore eyes?

Sea salt won't damage your eyes permanently. Just put sunscreen on your face skin before going out to sea, and wear a face mask over your sports goggles to prevent the splash of salty water from getting into your eyes.

Your eyes won't be damaged as long as your eyes are not allergic to sea salt. But you'd better wear an goggle which can prevent sea water from getting into your eyes.
