May be the answer is yes. We all know that contact lenses may decrease the entire corneal thickness and increase corneal curvature and surface irregularity in long term. So I suggest you not to wear them over 8 hours one day.
Wearing the contact lenses for long term can certainly lead to alterations in corneal thickness, stromal thickness, curvature, corneal sensitivity and cell density,etc. Decreased corneal sensitivity, vision loss, and photophobia have also been observed in patients.
Actually i think, dirty contact lenses can cause the cornea to be infected and inflamed with corneal ulcers that are infected erosions in the cornea. So it is very important to keep them clean and remember change the care solution.
