Why does one of my eyes blink frequently when I talk to people?

Hi, I need your help. I will shortly tell my story. When I was 8, I used to blink my one eye and twitch my mouth and nose. When I got 12, I forgot the mouth and nose twitching. But I still blinked my eyes. And now I am 19 and I usually blink my one eye more than the other and I don't notice that by myself. My friends told me that something might be wrong with my eyes. It usually happens when I talk to someone and I should tell that I'm super shy. I have an excellent vision. I really need your answer because I'm very afraid if I may have glaucoma or something bad. Thank you in advance!

I think it migt be just a habitual blinking habit. But you also said that your mouth and nose are involved, so I guess it could potentially be a number of things that needs further investigation. I suggest you to discuss this with your doctor of optometry for some tests or diagnoses.

Dude, there is nothing wrong with your eyes. I have a friend who has the same problem with you. She is a beautiful girl. But she is too shy so every time she talks to somebody, her eyes are blinking frequently. At first, I doubt that whether she is a liar because I heard that liars will blink their eyes frequently when they are talking with you but later I noticed that she is really shy. So don't worry about your eyes. This symptom will disappear after you know how to communicate with other people freely and won't feel shy.

Kid, don't be shy. You may need to diagnose your problems first and then apply for appropriate treatment immediately. In some cases, it is just a habitual blinking habit, but in rare cases, it might be something wrong with your nerve cell or facial muscles. Have you suffered some trauma on your head? I suggest you to have your eyes checked by an eye doctor first.

Conditions of stress, anxiety or fatigue may lead to increased blinking. So your problem may be caused by your stress or anxiety. When you talk to someone, you feel anxious or shame.
