Are uv contacts bad for your eyes ?

Sometimes I find sunglasses very inconvenient for me when I am playing sports outside. My friends recommend me to wear uv contacts when playing. Are they safe to use?

Do you mean UV blocking contact lenses. Although they can prevent UV rays, they can't substitutes for sunglasses for protecting eyes from UV rays. As we know, sunglasses or sports eyewear can cover the entire and surrounding eyes. However, UV blocking contact lenses can only contact the eye balls. The lenses can't cover the whole eyes. So, it is not wise to use UV blocking contact lenses to replace sunglasses. If you want to shield the eyes during playing sports, you's better use professional sports goggles not common sunglasses for convenient. Good luck.
