Well, yes, in my opinion, it is possible to have cataracts when you suffer dehydration. Generally speaking, when the loss of body fluids, mostly water, exceeds the amount that is taken in, it can lead to the water go out of the body and there is no enough water for the organs to work. In that way, dehydration can occur. And it will just affect our eyes and lead to some eye diseases, such as bloodshot eyes, red eyes, even dark circles and eye bags under your eyes. On the other hand, cataracts can be caused by dehydration too. So just be careful about it.

Dehydration can affect on the human eyes in many different ways. For example, dehydration will make the amount of water in the intercellular space become less than the normal amount, which can lead to the eyes deep into the chin. Also, dehydration can cause the blurred vision because the body fluid is insufficient and the acid base is disturbed leading to the decrease of blood volumn and blood pressure. It is as well very likely that dehydration can lead to cataracts. The crystalline lenses of the eyes play a very important role in metabolism and keeping transparency and adequate amount of water is fatal to the normal funtion of crystalline lenses. The dehydration is one of the causes of the crystalline lenses becoming muddy, which will lead to cataracts. Therefore, maintaining adequate water in the eyes is a key element to keep the metabolism of eyes. To avoid the cataracts caused by dehydration, you should first of all drink eplenty of water eyeryday. And you should also take in much vitamin C, because vitamin C is very important to prevent the malnutrition and degeneration of the crystalline lenses. Besides, wear a pair of sunglasses to screen the ultraviolet rays in the sunshine when you are in the outdoor.
