A corneal ulcer is an erosion or open sore on the surface of the cornea. The cornea is an important part of eyes to refract lights and protect other parts of our eyes. So any infection or injury to eyes may allow ulcer to develop. Before talking about how to cure it, we must get known about its causes-bacteria, viruses, injury, severe allergic disease, fungi. Thus, treatments must be according to these factors. Commonly treatment option for corneal ulcer included taking antibiotics as well as antiviral or antifungal medications, dropping steroid eye drops can reduce inflammation and irritation. A cornea transplant is necessary when your conditions go severe. Corneal ulcer is possible to be cured with proper treatment options.

Don't worry. It can be cured. You need to take the following steps in accordance with your own situation. When you have no other symptoms than slight pain, you can care for yourself at home. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them immediately. Practice cool compress to your affected eye. Don't rub or touch your eyes. Take some over-the-counter drug and drip some eyedrops which can fight the bacterial, fungal, or viral infection. If you really feel so painful, you can take some painkiller. When the situation goes worse, you need to see an ophthalmologist or to be hospitalized. If medicine can't control the ulcer or if it tend to perforate the cornea, you may need a corneal transplant surgery.

I am sorry for that. As we know, the cornea is a layer of transparent thin in front of the eye which is often exposed to the air. The damage on the transparent thin layer, sand hole, the stabbed corneal, bacteria, viruses can all give rise to infection and produce corneal ulcer. In addition, the allergy may also cause corneal ulcer. It is bad for people with corneal ulcer. A corneal ulcer can cause redness, pain and foreign feelings, or even lead to blindness. Thus it's better for you to treat it as soon as possible for the sake of your eyes. If your corneal ulcer is not very serious, there are some suggestions for you to take good care of your eyes at home, such as do not wear contact lenses, touch or rub your eyes with your fingers. Besides, using cool compresses or tea bags to relieve the symptom, washing your hands often to avoid worse infection. However, if those tips above do not work, you'd better go to see an ophthalmologist, and take a professional treatment.
