  Optic neuritis means inflammation of the optic nerve which carries visual information from the retina to the nerve cells in the brain. Although it is not that bad to suffer optic neuritis, it needs your attention and treatment in the right time. You can sure it by several ways. In order to cure optic neuritis, you should first know what the exact cause of your optic neuritis is. If you know that it is caused by infection or other physical diseases you can quickly get the right treatment. However, if you can not get to know the cause, you will have to have your eyes carefully and thoroughly examined before taking any treatment.   Yes, optic neuritis can be very serious. It no prompt treatment taken, one may suffer decreased vision or even blindness. But don't worry, if you take treatment with the doctors and keep a positive attitude, it can be cured. After discharged from hospital, it is better to go back to the hospital for recheck every week in the first month, then recheck once every 1 or 2 months for a half year.
