Blepharitis can lead to complications including corneal ulcers and conjunctivitis. Blepharitis is a sub-acute inflammation or chronic inflammation of the eyelid margins, hair follicle and gland tissue of the eyelash with crusting and scaling and causes the patient to have irritation, burning and itching of the eyelids. It is caused by bacteria, allergic reactions, seborrhea or skin inflammation of excessive grease. Blepharitis can be divided into scale-like scraps blepharitis, ulcer blepharitis and canthus blepharitis. Sometimes, the ulcer blepharitis becomes scarred and gives rise to trichiasis, the eyelash stimulates the cornea, causing the cornea ulcer and influencing the vision.
