We all know that adequate water is good for our health in daily life. However, some time period is not suitable to intake water, such as the period before sleeping. The water would be cycled with blood in your body to remove harmful materials out by daily movement. If you drink too much water before going to bed, you wouldn't have any activity when you are asleep, it couldn't be eliminated from the body that could cause swelling of the body, including eyes.

Actually, we all know that drinking too much water before sleep can cause swollen eyes. But on the other hand, you should also know why it can cause that. In simple words, when you are sleeping, your body does not work and have no exciting activities. So in this situation, if you drink much water, your body will have to carry them in your body. So not only your eyes will be swollen, but also the other part of your body. Anyway, you should not drink too much water before going to the bed.

According to what I know, the reason why drinking too much water before going to bed is that, your kidney will be overburdened with excess water and cannot assimilate all of them, only some of it will be discharged, thus, some water flow to other parts of your body, such as your eyes. So, some people get swollen eyes the next morning. If you are really thirsty, you can take a sip of water, but don't take a large drag, ok?

Drinking plenty of water before going to sleep, the body basically does not consume, it will remain the skin surface, swelling of the skin easily, for the relatively tender skin around the eyes is even more obvious signs of swelling. Drinking too much water before going to bed will not be eliminated from the body of water will cause swelling of the body .In the next morning drinking a cup of coffee can relieve the swelling because coffee has a diuretic effect which can help water discharges. So do not drink too much water before going to bed.
