At some time. people thought there was no specific genetic factors associated with macular degeneration. However, recent research indicate that there are some genetic factors that play a important role in macular degeneration. As we know, in most cases, macular degeneration is associated with age.

At one time, it was thought that no specific genetic patterns were associated with macular degeneration. However, recent research may indicate otherwise. But mostly, macular degeneration is associated with aging changes. The amount of reduced vision is directly related to the severity of the disease.
