Is it always better to wear soft contacts than hard ones?

I'm 14 and thinking about getting contacts. I heard that soft are more comfortable than hard lenses. If so, why do some people still wear hard contacts? Is it always better to wear soft contacts than hard ones?

Though soft contacts are comfortable to wear, hard contacts can give us a better vision. So some people would choose the hard ones.
