Will the sunglasses lose UV protection when they get wet with water?

I have heard that you should not use the umbrella with UV protection in rainy days otherwise the UV protection can get lost,so I wonder if it is the same with sunglasses.

No. Water won't make sunglasses lose UV protection. I often use water to wash my sunglasses, and it can still block UV rays and protect my eyes.

As sunglasses can be cleaned with water,it can't lose UV protection when getting wet with water.But if it is chlorine water,it may lose the UV protection cuz there may be chemical reaction between them.
