Can computer screens damage your eyes ?

I like playing computer games very much. And I do not have any vision problems at present. While my parents do not allow me to play it for a long time, because they think computer screens can damage the eyes. If it does, what can I do to protect my eyes from the damage?

Playing computer games for a long time can cause eye strain and discomfort; Of course , these symptoms will damage a person's eyesight for the long run. Eye strain is result from prolonged computer use. It may probably progress to dry eyes, blurred visionÂ and headaches. But if you can use your eyes correctly and take a rest after you feel tired, I think computer screens cannot damage your eyes to that extent.

Computer screens can cause some vision problems while they can be prevented or relieved in a few ways. First, you can take a 10 to 15 minute break every hour to rest your eyes. Once the eyes are rested, the symptoms tend to disappear quickly. Second, use LCD screens instead of using the traditional CRT computer screens, because it tends to cause a lot less eye strain.
