Well, I have to say that it is kind of normal for your baby to have eye discharges, for your baby have more sensitive eyes than adults. So you do not need to worry about it. Generally speaking, when someone has eye discharge in eyes, it can be caused by the eye infection. According to some researches, eye discharges are easily caused by allergies, bacteria, makeup, and chemicals. So for your baby's situation, it may be caused by eye infection. What is why you can see the eye discharges occurring in the eyes. And at this moment, just make sure your baby stay away from bacteria. Well, at first, you need to observe your babies carefully to know the discharges' color and to see if they are along with some other symptomes like fever. Bacterial conjunctivitis are commonly associated with a yellow, greenish-yellow or sticky discharge in the corner of our eye. Once it is suspected as conjunctivitis, you need to head to pediatrician to get some medicine. Besides, you need to wash your hands frequently. Further, due to babies' immature tear duct, goopy eyes may occur with a blocked tear duct. You can use a warm damp washcloth to clean up them and such symptom will disappear in 5-7 days with babies' innate and adaptive immune system. However, if the babies have a fever, he may have sinus infection and need timely rescue.

Infection, allergy and tear duct blockage are usually the causes of the discharge in babies. Babies are vulnerable to eye infections from various sources and the infection leads to discharges in the eyes following with discomfort such as itchiness and eyelid swelling. This can be treated with prescript eye drops. Pollens, smoke, pet dander and the antibiotic eye drops which are used shortly after birth to fight against infection can cause allergy in babies. When babies are allergic to something, their eyes will red, watery and discharges will appear. Blockage, for example cyst or duct malformation, may happen to babies and cause discharge. A kind of massage called milking can be adopted to remove the discharge. Parents should consult a pediatrician immediately after this condition occurs to babies.
