  A broken blood vessel in the eye is correctly known as a sub-conjunctival haemorrhage. It looks really terrible and horrific. It is purly a cosmetically issue, not really an eye disease. That is, your eyesight and other eye problems cannot be related to blood vessel pops in your eyes. High blood pressure, constipation, stress, coughing or sneezing excessively are common causes of blood vessel pops in your eyes. You should seek the advice of your doctor in case any other damage has also been caused.

  In medically, this phenomenon is called subconjunctival hemorrhage. To put it simply sometimes your eyes can not absorb the blood quickly, then you will see blood burst in your eyes. The common reason is strain. And excessive sports also can cause blood vessel in your eyes. Another possibilities is injury. Sometimes by accident, some sharp object run into your eyes. if you are red eye, you may also see blood vessel. Anyway, don't worry about that, it is not so danger as you think. After a few days, you will be ok.
