Do not so worry. All this just because your wife has a weak immune system after delivery and bacteria and virtues have chances to enter her eyes. The one who get red eye may find bloodshot in eyes and eye pain also occur. Red eyes are caused by the enlarged and dilated blood vessels in the surface of the eye (conjunctiva) becoming irritated. Red eye could be due to an illness, injury, eye infections, or other condition such as allergies. So make sure your living place is clean and your wife had better stay away from pets and pollens if possible. You could also consider rinsing her eyes with warm and cool water. The best thing you can do is to seek professional eye care and avoid taking any medicines without prescription, or something unsafe matters will transmit to your newborn baby through mother body.

Delivery is very physical. Because of strain, exhaustion, and overall physical activity, some new mothers come out of the process with bloodshot, red or black eyes. For this condition, apply a bag of ice to the eyes for 15minutes, and repeat it every day for several times. Your wife's eyes will be recovered after several days.
