Vitamin A is really important to the health of eyes. It is called retinol too. It takes part in some metabolic process, and plays a vital role in vision development. Vitamin A could effectively allay eye dryness and night-blind. As to red eyes, it refers to the dilated blood vessels in eyes. Normally blood vessels are invisible, but once eyes are irritated, the capillaries would get dilated and visible, so eyes are red. There are many possibilities causing red eyes. If it is caused by eye dryness, vitamin A could definitely help you. Drink more water and have a light diet. If the air is too dry, for example you need to sit in the office with air conditioning, you can use a humidifier to moisten the air. Apply warm compress if possible to help produce tear film to lubricate eyes.
