First, you should know that contact lenses are invented by the famous Italian architect, mathematician and inventor whose name is Leonardo da Vinci. According to some information, he produced the first known sketches in 1508, which suggested the optics of the human eye could be altered by placing the cornea directly in contact with water. That is the first contact lenses. But on the other hand, with the high technology, people have improved the skills of designing contact lenses.   Although there are many famous scientists put forward the ideas of putting the transparent things in front of the corneal to take place of the eyeglasses, it is the German scientists Adolf Eugen Fick that succeeded in producing the first little contact lenses in 1887. Before that, as early as in 1508 it was leonardo Da Vinci that put forward the first description with glass tank filled with water in corneal at the surface of the glass using the corneal optical function. However, with the creation of the contact lenses, people with short sighted eyes find that it is convenient to do things. Actually, they don't need the eyeglasses to help them see the vision. Now, there are many colored contact lenses with prescription or no prescription. Besides as the eyeglasses to get the clear vision, the contact lenses will be regarded as the beauty accessories to improve the beauty.

So, as a matter of fact, the first pair of daily contact lenses selling on the market is invented by Baushe and Lomb Inc, they first lauched contact lenses in 1971 after getting the approval from FDA.
