Can rubbing your eyes cause blindness?

  Rubbing the eyes is a bad habit which may be harmful for your eyes. The too much sticky eyes may cause the eyes feel uncomfortable which you want to rub the eyes to let them feel better. It may get your eyes get the bacterium if it is not appropriate to rub. However, it will not cause the blindness. You should get rid of such habit.

  Yes, it could cause that. Eye rubbing is one of the various ways of causing eye pressure spikes. In the case of eye rubbing, the combined effects of eye closure and rubbing forces on the ye can raise pressure to very high level. Normally these pressure spikes could not affect health eyes, however, with large, frequently, prolonged eye pressure spikes could cause related eye disease, including glaucoma, which can lead to blindness in the end.
