Are the cheaper glasses less durable than the designer ones?

I just wonder why the designer glasses are more expensive than the cheap glasses. Does that mean the designer ones are more durable than the cheap ones?

Generally speaking, the cheaper glasses from some discount/online places use lenses that are less durable than the expensive glasses from the designer brands. However, the cheap glasses are not so easy to break. If you want to get the glasses just for fashion, then the cheap glasses are suitable for you. Beyond a certain point you are just paying for the name on the frame. I hope that made sense.

Although the designer glasses are much more expensive than the cheap ones,the cheap ones aren't always less durable.I would rather buy cheap glasses rather than get designer ones which I can't afford.
