  A corneal transplant is necessary when there is a drop in vision caused by damage to the cornea. Under such circumstances, you must see the doctor immediately. I also think that pain that can interfere with our daily activities such as reading, driving or working may need a corneal transplant.

  A corneal transplant is necessary when a corneal infection does not respond to medical treatment or the cornea becomes distorted or scarred by a variety of diseases, infections or injuries.
