Does optic neuritis cause dry eyes?

  We have known that optic never damaged can lead to optic neuritis. Actually, it is the inflammation of the optic nerve. Common causes of optic neuritis are infections , ocular herpes, sinusitis and nutritional deficiency.Eye pain, redness, cloudy in cornea, fatigue eye dry and eye strain are all symptoms of it. The best way to help with optic nueritis is to see a doctor and take some notes from him/her. By the way, b12 is good to heal optic neuritis.

  Optic neuritis is usually caused by a kind of autoimmune disorder. Generally speaking, the immune system of human beings is generally used to fight infection by creating a reaction that combats bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other foreign proteins. But in autoimmune disorder it is mistakenly directed against a normal part of the body, creating inflammation and potential damage of the inflammation in the optic nerve and the structure that connects the eye to the brain. The optic nerve carries visual information from the retina to the nerve cells in the brain stem, where the information is relayed to the area of the brain that recognizes vision. Optic neuritis symptoms may include pain, vision loss, loss of color vision and flashing lights. Dry eyes could also be one of the complications of optic neuritis. You had better go on a routine eye exam and take an ophthalmoscopy as well as a pupillary light reaction test. Steroid medications are sometimes used to treat optic neuritis, because they help reduce inflammation in the optic nerve. Besides, a treatment called plasma exchange therapy may help some people who got optic neuritis to recover their vision.

  Well, yes, optic neuritis can just lead to dry eyes in some degree. First, according to some experts, optic neuritis is known as retro-bulbar neuritis. And what is important is that it is a leading cause of vision loss. Maybe it is not normal in daily life, but it will actually be caused by a variety of processes and then, it will just cause inflammation and damage to the optic nerve. In that way, your eyes will be affected, leading to some eye problems, such as dry eyes, blurry vision. By the way, smoking and injury to the optic nerve caused by trauma can just increase the risk of getting optic neuritis. So just be careful about it.
