Will over the counter reading/computer glasses help eye strain during reading?

I've always gotten headaches from extended periods of reading, but now it seems to occur faster and with other symptoms. I have really good vision, I'm just having issues with reading. So I was just wondering if picking up a pair of read/computer glasses from a local store would help? Or should i go visit a doctor first?

the problems may be caused by reading for over time . If the symptoms relieve after you have a rest , you should have a break during long-time reading . If not ,it is better for you to visit a doctor . If you have good vision and don't wear prescription glasses , it is unnecessary for you to wear reading glasses to adjust the focus .

First of all, I want to know your age because the old people may easily get the bad situation on eyes, like finding it hard to look at the near things clearly. Secondly, are you sure that your eyes have the right vision? I still suggest you to go to see the doctor and have a check on eyes before you decide to buy a pair of reading glasses.

Well, I suggest you to have your eyes checked by your doctor. You said that you have perfect vision. I have perfect vision too. But I never have any problem with my reading. I don't trust the quality of a pair of over the counter glasses. You'd better buy a pair of glasses according to your prescription. Good luck!

You may need to buy a pair of computer glasses if your headaches and eye strain was caused by sitting in front of a computer for a long time. You may suffer from CVS and need a pair of computer glasses to protect your eyes. But if you suffer from same problems when you are reading a book, I will suggest you to have your eyes checked immediately. Your symptoms might be caused by other reasons as well. Only the eye doctor can diagnose where the problem lies in.

If you have presbyopia, you may suffer from eye strain when you are reading a book. presbyopia is a kind of vision problem that often happens among people who are older than 40 years old. Usually if you are older than 40 and have difficult in viewing a book, you might have presbyopia. I suggest you to have your eyes checked by a doctor of optometry first. If you really have this kind of vision problem, you can buy a pair of reading glasses according to your prescription. But if you mean the eye strain was caused by computer using, you may need to buy a pair of computer glasses. Computer using will lead to eye strain, red and dry eyes or even headaches. But computer glasses can help protect our eyes from computer reflections and filter glare from computer screens.

Sweetie, you may need to see a doctor of optometry first. Usually reading a book or using computer for a long time won't cause headaches. But if the articles are too difficult for you to understand, you may have headaches as well. Just as my little bro told me that he hated study. Every time he was reading a book, he would suffer from headaches. Ha-ha, but I don't think you have the same problem with him. So I suggest you to have your eyesight checked. Some people who have vision problems will find it difficult to read because they have to strain their eyes to see letters clearly. They will suffer from eye fatigue after reading for a while. if they persist on reading, they may suffer from headaches as well. Over the counter glasses can't help correct your vision problems or they are not made according to your prescription. If you have some vision problems, I won't suggest you to buy the over the counter glasses.
