Well, yes, macular pucker can heal by itself, so you do not need to worry about it. First, according to some experts, in most cases, the macular pucker symptoms of vision distortion and blurriness are mild, and there is no treatment needed. Even if getting macular pucker, people usually adjust to the mild visual distortion, since it does not affect activities of daily life, such as reading and driving. But on the other hand, in some cases, vision deteriorates to the point where it affects daily routine activities. At this moment, you may need some treatments. For example, surgery may be recommended for treating macular pucker which is named as vitrectomy.

Macular pucker is a serious problem. It seems that the macular pucker can't heal itself, but it grows very slow. Usually at the beginning, the doctor won't give the patient any treatment for macular pucker which is exact the pucker or wrinkle of macula. The wrinkle is caused by pulling or contracting force on macula, for example some tissue grows in eyes or scarring tissue formed in eyes from eye injury or eye surgery. It might be caused by vitreous detachment, retinal detachment, uveitis and diabetic retinopathy. Because the tissue or scar in eyes grows very slow, so the doctor prefer to suggest the patient to take eye examination frequently to monitor the development and ensure no serious problem caused. Once macular pucker impacts the vision, the doctor would recommend eye surgery which could flatten the macula and solve vision problem. So don't worry too much. Most cases of macular pucker stay stable and show no obvious progressively worse development trend.
