Will I develop glaucoma if it exits in my family?

There's a history of glaucoma in my family, and I wonder if I can also develop such disease.

    Yes. If there is a history of glaucoma in your family, you may have a higher risk of getting glaucoma, especially for a smoker. So if you have got some symptoms, you should go to see your doctor as early as possible and let them know there is a history of glaucoma in your family. The doctor will check your eyes carefully.

    There is a high chance that you could develop glaucoma if there is a history of glaucoma in your family. But you should not worry too much about it as it is much easier to treat such disease nowadays if it is diagnosed in time.
