Diabetes may cause cataracts. Compared with those who don't have diabetes, the people with diabetes will get eye problems such as blurred vision and inability to focus light at an earlier age and the condition may progresses more rapidly. Diabetes may also cause glaucoma. Glaucoma is the result of the damage of the nerves and the blood vessels in our eyes. This may lead to blindness. So we must take your father to see the eye doctor regularly.

Dear friend, diabetes does cause some kind of eye problems, because the people who have diabetes may suffer from high level of blood sugar. This will lead to blurred vision and further process to blindness. But we can delay the progress by medicines or have the blood sugar level controlled. The best way to prevent eye problems from diabetes is to visit doctors regularly. Hope this helped.
