Charles Bonnet syndrome happens among the patients with visual loss due to age related macular degeneration. The patients are mentally healthy, but they will suffer from significant visual loss, vivid and complex recurrent visual hallucinations. The patients diagnosed with Age-Related Macular Degeneration show more incidence of Charles Bonnet syndrome.

The study shows that Charles bonnet syndrome has some relation with age related macular degeneration. More and more old adults without mental disorders but with age-related visual impairments will experience visual hallucinations. If you a senior citizen, you need to have regular eye exams.
