As a matter of fact, dry eye syndrome is a disorder of the tear film. Once the eyes drain insufficient liquid, the abnormality may result in many eye problems, such as disruption of the ocular hyperaemia, eye irritation, eye infections, blur vision and even episcleritis. Therefore, there is a great possibility of episcleritis caused by dry eyes. Episcleritis is a thin tissue between the conjunctiva and the white sclerais, because of your dry eye and infections, it may also cause an acute inflammatory disorder of the episclera. That's how you may suffer from episclera because of dry eyes. As for dry eyes, it is usually treated by fish oil, Lutein and Restasis and so on. To help reduce the risk of episcleritis caused by dry eye, you can use a humidifier to add more moisture into the air; or do some regular eyelid massage with baby shampoo to help by providing a thicker, more stable lipid layer. Besides, hot compress, artificial tears and lubricating eye drops may also provide more moisture and help for the dry eye meanwhile prevent episclera.

Episcleritis is caused by the irrtation and inflammation of the episclera of the eyes. And in common, Episcleritis is usually looks more worse than it actually is. But luckily, most of Episcleritis can go away itself. And people with Episcleritis may suffer eye pain, tenderness, sensitivity to light as well as tearing etc. However, dry eyes means the eyes can't produce enough tears to keep eyes moist. It can be cause by surgery and focusing something in a long time etc. From this point, dry eyes won't cause Episcleritis. Since you have suffer dry eyes in those days, you can use eye drops to help your eyes.

Yes, the dry eyes will cause episcleritis which is the main reason. The too dryness of the eyes will cause the damage of the eyes nerves. You should use the eye drops to moisture the eyes. You could also eat more green vegetables, like ones with vitamin C to moisture the eyes. You should also have the good rest for the eyes.
