Well, yes, eye infection can cause sinus infections, in some degree. As we know that sinus infection can be caused by bacteria, viruses or environmental agents, such as pollens and other irritants. So in many cases, people get sinus infection when they are with irritants. And on the other hand, an eye infection also can develop through viruses and bacteria. Of course, an eye infection can be caused by fungi. So when there is some bacteria in your surrounding, it can make you have sinus infection, at that time, it can also lead to eye infection. So you should be careful about it. And if you do have eye infection because of the sinus infection, the first thing you can do is to drop some eye drops in your eyes, and then you can just take some measures to find out the direct infection cause. So you can figure out the problem. Sometimes, just going to have an eye exam will be considerable. Besides, you should know that an eye infection can develop in one or both eyes and in different areas of the eye.

Ethmoid sinusitis which is the inflammation of the two paranasal sinuses that are located within the ethmoid bone in the nasal cavitys may cause an infection of the ethmoid sinus behind the eye and can cause pain, pressure, or headache around the eyes. At the same time, sphenoid sinusitis is also located behind the eyes and can cause the same pain. According to the scientific research, the infection of the eye socket can result from ethmoid sinusitis which caused by the sinus infection. Such skin infection around the eye should better be treated with the medicine. Thus, you should go to the hospital and accept the treatment as soon as possible.
