Yes, polycarbonate lenses are known thinner and lighter than traditional type lenses, such as the plastic lenses. And also, they can offers you total protection from UV light and radiations. But ordinary plastic offers you minimum protection from UV light. And there are also many other advantages of polycarbonate lenses. For example, they are convenient to be used. And, If you use plastic lenses, you may need to invest in anti glare material to protect you from any harmful rays. So in my opinion, you should choose Polycarbonate lenses.

Of course yes, they are much lighter and thinner than plastic lenses. Polycarbonate was one of the first thinner and lighter lens materials. Polycarbonate lenses have high impact resistance with 100 percent UV protection and scratch coating. They have a great upgrade over plastic lenses, most opticians and doctors insist that they can be used for children's eyewear and safety glasses. Polycarbonate lenses also have a 1-year warranty for scratches. However, polycarbonate lenses could cause blurry vision and color fringes on peripheral vision images, especially in strong prescriptions.
