How to prevent eye drops from coming down to my throat?

Everytime when I put the eye drops, there is always some draining down your throat.They are so bad tasting.How can I stop this happening?

    Before puting eye drops, you should held your head up and place a towel along the side of your nose. After putting the eye drops, you should use one hand to press against the towel and then the towel will prevent the eye drops from coming down to your nose, mouth and then throat.

    It is common that the eye drops would come down to the throat because the lacrimal passages start from our eyes, then nose, then the throat.To prevent this from happening, push firmly on the lower lid near your nose right after instilling the drops. It should reduce the amount of drops that come into the throat.
