Can I use the bifocal prescription for single vision glasses?

I don't like the big frames in bifocal glasses.Can I just have the prescription for nearsightedness filled?

    Generally speaking, you can use the bifocal prescription for single vision glasses. However, I still suggest you go to your optician to have an eye exam or let him do it for you.

    Yes you can. Because the prescription for bifocal glasses is the same as the prescription for single vision glasses. In other words, it is not the prescription makes the difference, but the prescription on the lenses.

    Surely you can.The prescription for bifocal or single vision glasses are same.But if you want to get contacts,you need a different one.
