Yes, it is possible to develop glaucoma from uveitis. Uveitis refers to inflammation of uvea, which is composed of iris, ciliary body and choroid. No matter what part the inflammation occurs to, it will cause series conditions. The inflammation might make the turbidity of aqueous humor and oedema of ciliary muscle, cornea and iris. The aqueous humor can't be drained probably, which increases intraocular pressure resulted in glaucoma. So far, treatment to uveitis is always depending on antibiotics and steroids medication which will disturb the immune system, so uveitis is frequently recurrent. It is a very serious eye disease, which is the leading cause to blindness. If you are diagnosed as uveitis, I suggest you to visit eye specialist as soon as possible to avoid more severe complications and results. Good luck.

Yes, it is possible to lead to glaucoma because of uveitis. It is reported that up to 20% of patients with uveitis will develop glaucoma, and this kind of glaucoma is called a secondary glaucoma. Uveitis is as arthritic iritis and can cause glaucoma and even blindness. What's more, glaucoma can occur if you get eye inflammation and edema of your ciliary body.

I think most of us have known that glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness around the world. Elevated pressure in the eye is the main factor leading to glaucomatous damage to the eye (optic) nerve. Well, uveitis is the potentially cause of glaucoma, exactly glaucoma is one of the many potentially devastating complications of uveitis. Generally speaking, serious uveitis will increase pressure in eyes which obtains high risk of getting glaucoma. And I asked a doctor and he told me that heal glaucoma means treat the uveitis. Glaucoma needs to heal in time. Some patients can recover through taking medicines and dropping special eye drops. While others whose conditions are much worse must be operated. I think you can get much information on cataract.org.uk and aao.org. You can really benefit from these two websites.
