Is it ok to box after corneal transplant?

I just took a corneal transplant a week ago. Now. Is it OK if i box? Does it hurt my eyes?

No, it is not OK for you to take the box after the corneal transplant not long which will hurt your eyes. You should protect the eyes carefully. You should not do the strenuous exercises which will hurt your eyes badly. You should have the good rest for the eyes. In addition, you should keep the good diet and sleep habit to help the recovery of the eyes.

Of course not, you are not supposed to box after the corneal transplant. As we know that corneal transplant can do a good job to your eyes, but on the other hand, it also will weaken your eyes, especially at the recovery period. And at that time, your eye can be sensitive. When you have boxing, it will lead to eye strain in your eyes. And then it can affect your eyes, leading to some eye problems. For example, it will lead to red eyes, bloodshot eyes. Also, it will have some eye infection, slowing down the recovery process. So just avoid having heavy exercises like boxing.

I really don't think it is a good idea for you to take box now. Corneal transplant is to replace the damaged or disease cornea of patient with donated healthy cornea in entirty or in part. It is also known as corneal grafting. Because the cornea is a transparent membrane with no blood vessels but full of nerve ends, so corneal grafting surgeries are highly successful. But the recovery period for corneal transplant is quite long, and you need to protect your eyes carefully. You need to wear sunglasses or glasses while walking out and eye shield during sleeping. The eye shield should be wore continuously for at least 8 weeks. You can't lift anything heavier than 15 pounds for at least 6-8 weeks after this surgery, not to mention boxing. Although the success rate is quite high, there is still some risks of this surgery, including infection, rejection, glaucoma and retinal detachment. So I think it is better for you to have a good rest and provide a full protection of your eyes to avoid any possible risks. Boxing might give direct trauma or injuries to eyes, which should definitely be exhibited until you are completely healed.
