It seems that watery eyes are not caused by cataract. Cataract is an eye condition that lens of the eye is clouding which prevents light traveling through and thus decreased vision. Cataract is the leading cause of blindness especially for people above 40. The typical symptoms of cataract include haze and reduced vision. While as to watery eye, it might be caused by hay fever, allergies, conjunctivitis, a cold, irritation and so on. To treat watery eyes, you need to find out the underlying causes which lead to proper treatment. For example, if your watery eyes are caused by eye dryness, then use a humidifier to add moist in air or instill some artificial tear which could help relieve. If your watery eyes are caused by allergies, then getting away from the allergen is the first action you need to do. If your watery eyes are caused by bacterial or viral infection, then wash your eyes with saline solution.

Well, yes, cataracts can lead to watery eyes. As we know that cataracts occur when there is a buildup of protein in the lens that makes it cloudy. In that way, it will just prevent light from passing clearly through the lens, causing some loss of vision. And it can be caused by irritants, so at that moment, it will lead to some other eye problems, such as blurry vision, watery eyes. To treat it, you can just try some lutein to heal it. Also, you should pay attention to cigarette smoke, air pollution, and heavy alcohol consumption which can be harmful to your situation.
