Well, generally speaking, there are many signs, when you have got Macular degeneration. First, you should know that macular degeneration is referred to as AMD (age-related macular degeneration). And the most risk of it can be blindness in individuals over the age of 65. Also, for other signs, in common, people who suffer this disease may experience anything from a blurry, gray or distorted area to a blind spot in the center of vision. But on the other hand, genetics, age, diet, smoking and sunlight exposure can be the causes too. So just be careful about them. You can just consult it with the doctor, so that he can give some advices.

Those who suffer from macular degeneration usually produce a slow, painless loss of vision. However, in some rare cases, they may suffer vision loss in a sudden. And they can find shadowy areas in their central vision or unusually fuzzy or distorted vision as early signs of vision loss from macular degeneration. Signs of macular degeneration also include Drusen, hemorrhage in the eye, hard exudates, subretinal or intraretinal fluid, incipient and geographic atrophy, drastically decreased visual acuity, trouble discerning colors, slow recovery of visual function after exposure to bright light and a loss in contrast sensitivity.
